| Spring Festival culture timetable announced |

With Chinese new year around the corner, people are already getting in the mood to celebrate. On the morning of Jan.13, the Beijing municipal government announced the timetable for cultural activities that will take place during the upcoming Spring Festival.
Seven ensembles from Russia, Britain and the United States will be bringing their best shows to Beijing. On top of that, the Spring Festival season beginning late next week will see local troupes staging dozens of shows including dance, music concerts, circus performances and Peking Opera.
Besides the eight established fairs, a series of theme temple fairs will be held for people with various interests. There will also be some 200 folk culture activities including lantern exhibitions and riddle contests.
