China battled for one hour and 26 minutes to beat Italy 3－1 on Wednesday afternoon with 25－22, 23－25, 25－15 and 25－20 over their Italian counterparts. It was their third consecutive win in the final round of the 2003 women's volleyball World Grand Prix Tournament in Italy.
The Chinese women gained sweet revenge for their 1－3 loss to Italy at the world championships in 2002. Defending champion Russia share the lead with China as they go into the final round.
