Dalian, a port city in northeast China's Liaoning Province, is putting the final touches to preparations for the upcoming Asia-European Meeting of Economic Ministers. This year's ASEM meeting will be the largest and most important conference to be held in China since the end of the SARS epidemic.
The three-day meeting opens tomorrow. All 26 ASEM members, including China, Japan, and the People's Republic of Korea, will send delegates to the meeting.
The news center especially established for the forum has been fired up already. Computers with both Chinese and English languages, long-distance call facilities, and Internet connections will enable Chinese and overseas journalists to file their stories with ease.
The organizers are now confident that everything is in order for the opening tomorrow(Tuesday).
