| ASEM members hold closed－door consultations |

Delegates to the Asia－Europe Meeting, known as ASEM, are in China's northeastern port city of Dalian for the fifth Economic Ministers' Meeting. On day two of the three－day meeting, ASEM members have been holding consultations on a number of issues.
Lu Fuyuan, Chinese minister of commerce, held closed－door bilateral consultations with ministerial representatives from some of the 26 member countries. This afternoon, delegates are holding closed－door meetings to discuss Asian and European economies and to seek ways to restore confidence in global economic growth. The results of their consultations will be submitted to the Asia－Europe Economic Ministers' Meeting tomorrow.
More than 250 representatives from 26 members states have arrived in Dalian. 20 of the delegations are at ministerial level.
