| Austria targets Chinese tourists |

The Austrian National Bureau of Tourism has called a meeting of the 10 largest Chinese travel companies in an effort to promote Austria as a destination for Chinese tourists.
Bureau officials say Austria is not one that the "officially approved" destinations for Chinese tourists. Consequently, the procedures to applying for tourist visas can be quite complicated. But the bureau says Austria's great scenery and attractions may make it worth the effort.
They plan to attract 100,000 Chinese tourists next year. Austria has already submitted a request to become an approved "official destination" for Chinese tourists.
