China and Australia are holding their 7th dialogue on human rights issues in Beijing. The closed-door talks will last for one day (Monday), and it is not clear what issues will be discussed. The Australian delegation has thanked the Chinese side for arranging a visit to Tibet. And Shen Guofang, the chief Chinese delegate and assistant Chinese foreign minister, expressed the hope that the meeting would achieve positive results.
"Beijing was overcast or it rained over the past two days, and it has now turned clear. I hope the meeting will be like the weather in Beijing. We sometimes do have some differences, but finally, we will achieve good results and narrow down or even get rid of our differences," said Shen.
