| SARS fighters begin national lecture tour |

A special group of outstanding medical workers, scientists and military officers at the forefront of the fight against SARS have set out on a nationwide lecture tour. They will be telling audiences about their experiences in combating the disease. Their first stop was in the Chinese capital Tuesday, where senior Communist Party leader Li Changchun commended their heroism during the campaign.
Before the first lecture started at the Great Hall of the People, Li Changchun, a senior CPC official in charge of media and information, met all members of the team and expressed sincere gratitude to them.
Li Changchun attributed the victory against the epidemic to the wise leadership of CPC Central Committee and the State Council, along with the united efforts of the people.
He demanded that the media and publicity departments at all levels should do their best to make the public aware of the valuable experiences gained in the anti－SARS drive as well as the heroic deeds of medical workers and scientists who contributed to the victory.
The lecture tour is jointly sponsored by the Organizational Department and the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, together with the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Science and Technology and other ministries.
The team is made up of 18 SARS fighters including renowned physician Zhong Nanshan and President of Xiaotangshan Hospital Zhang Yanling, who will tour 10 provinces and autonomous regions to share their unforgettable experiences with local audiences.
