CCTV.com Series on New Media Culture was published on Jan.9 by Zhonghua Book Company. The series of books is the account of the achievements of CCTV.com in exploring new media culture and its practice in this area.

Emerging as the fourth form of media following the traditional ones, namely, newspaper, radio and television, the Internet has been widely accepted. It has been only a few years since the Internet technology was applied in China. Although the development of the Internet is gaining great momentum in China, definite conclusions have not yet been drawn concerning its definition, pattern of development, experience and culture. How to explore and enrich this brand-new field and gain a foothold in the area is a question worthy of serious discussion and a responsibility before the new media workers.

After six-year's development, especially the last one or two years, CCTV.com has defined its position, nature and task, put forward its idea and strategies of development. On the basis of integrating and re-publicizing CCTV’s programs, CCTV.com has been attempting to explore a new way to develop the new form of media.

CCTV.com has made a commitment for spreading the advanced culture, that is spreading the Chinese advanced culture as well as the advanced culture belonging to humanity. In building up its own corporate culture, CCTV.com has made great efforts in developing the Internet culture. It has a dream to create an entirely new media culture, a dream to realize the aim of “Bridging China and World Through Multimedia,” and a dream to become a top-notch disseminator of the new media culture.
