| Ukraine, Cook Islands congratulate CPC |

The Ukraine and the Cook Islands have congratulated the Communist Party of China on its national congress.
Ukrainian President Leonid Kuchma says the Chinese people, under the leadership of the CPC, have improved their living standards, consolidated China's international status and made major national progress.
Cook Islands Prime Minister Robert Woonton says China plays an increasingly important role in promoting international peace and security under the leadership of the CPC.
Other leaders and parties throughout the world have conveyed similar sentiments, including those from Uruguay, Malta, Cambodia, Spain and Portugal.
