| CPC Presidium approves list of Central Committee candidates |

Today is the final day of the 16th CPC National Congress. Yesterday, the CPC Congress Presidium approved the lists of candidates for members and alternate members of a new CPC Central Committee.
At its third meeting in Beijing on Wednesday morning, the Presidium, chaired by CPC General Secretary Jiang Zemin, also approved a list of candidates for members of a new Central Commission for Discipline Inspection. The lists were approved in line with the results of preliminary elections held on Tuesday morning by all delegations. The lists were then submitted to the delegations for deliberation. The CPC National Congress will hold formal elections on Thursday morning.
