Chen Lin makes donation to Hope Project

Chinese singer Chen Lin is an avid supporter of public welfare causes, and now she's a "love ambassador" for the Hope Project. The organization helps children from underprivileged families go to school. Calling on the entire country to get involved, the singer has donated 200,000 Yuan to the Chinese Children's Fund, the organization behind the Hope Project.

Chen Lin is living up to her new title, "love ambassador". She made the donation after hearing the fund is planning to set up ten Hope schools around China. Her donation is marked to go help with one, and she is calling on the public to help with the nine others.

She said, "How much money I give to the cause is not that important. Actually I don't think it worth a mention. I just hope that more and more people and enterprises will take part in what we are doing now."

Years ago, as a "Green ambassador", Chen Lin helped raise public awareness about environmental protection. She even wrote and sang an environmentally-themed song. She has promised another one for her new role and will teach it to children. Chen Lin is planning to sing the song with students at the opening ceremony of the school in September.
