Mao Xuzhi

Mao Xuzhi joined CCTV International's news gathering team in 2002 after receiving her MA in Journalism and Mass Communication from Utah State University in the US.
The major events she has covered include the devastating drought in southern China in 2003, the 6-party talks on the Korean Peninsula crisis in Beijing in 2004, the annual meeting of the National People鈥檚 Congress, and the Diaoyu Islands disputes between China and Japan.
While in the US, she worked as an editor for the host broadcaster ISB (International Sports Broadcasting) of the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City.
From 1995 to 1997, Mao Xuzhi was an intern at CCTV鈥檚 English News. She was part of the team that covered Hong Kong's return to China in 1997 and the 4th World Women's Conference in Beijing in 1995.
Mao Xuzhi has a BA in English Linguistics and Literature from Beijing Foreign Studies University. She also worked at the Head Office of China Construction Bank for 3 years in the International Business Department.
