Mei Yan is the Deputy Producer of the reporting team on CCTV International. She continues to be a field reporter, covering the activities of the National People鈥檚 Congress.
Since 2000, she has covered many major issues in China and abroad. In 2001, she reported on the transition of China鈥檚 leadership, an event that drew world attention. This story won her the top national news award. In 2000, she went to Moscow to report on Beijing鈥檚 bid for the 2008 Olympic Games.
As the legislature is one of her major beats, she closely follows the amendments to laws and regulations that impact political, economic and social life. These include constitutional amendments and revisions to Foreign Trade, Banking, and Foreign Investment Laws.
Previously, Mei Yan was an editor for World Wide Watch, CCTV鈥檚 flagship program focusing on international events.
Mei Yan earned her BA in Journalism at one of China鈥檚 leading universities 鈥斺攖he Institute of International Relations.
