Qiu Jun is CCTV International鈥檚 reporter for education, poverty reduction and NGOs, starting in January 2004.
She gives special attention to controversial social issues. She was one of the first TV journalists to cover a children鈥檚 village in Beijing, a sponsored home where children whose parents are in jail live together until they come of age.
She looked into the challenge facing Hou Hai, an area of culture and history, which is struggling to keep its traditional appeal in its commercialization process, a problem facing many places in China.
Qiu Jun visited Chinese gymnast Sang Lan, now a TV presenter, five years after a training accident left her paralyzed from the chest down .
Qiu Jun came to the reporting team from CCTV News, where she was an anchor and writer since 2000. She graduated from Shanghai International Studies University with a bachelor鈥檚 degree in international journalism.
