Nov. 5, 2001 -- The Chinese Premier Zhu Rongji attended the fifth ASEAN+1 summit in Seri Begawan, capital of Brunei. The two sides agreed on the establishment of the China-ASEAN free trade zone in the following 10 years, and senior officials were authorized to begin negotiations on relevant agreements as soon aspossible.
