China's non-Communist parties have thrown their weight behind Jiang Zemin's keynote speech. They say the report strengthens their resolve to safeguard the leadership role of the Communist Party of China.

Since the founding of the new China, the ruling Communist Party of China has worked to include other parties in the running of the country. Kuomintang Revolutionary Committee central committee chairwoman He Luli says Jiang Zemin is seeking truth from facts. She says the report helps other parties understand the CPC's new ideological and practical guidelines in its socialist modernization drive. It's also an important document to help the ruling party to improve itself and its administration.

Jiusan Society Chairman, Wu Jieping said, "The Communist Party of China pays attention to other parties, including our Jiusan Society. It always briefs us on major issues and asks for our opinions on these issues. We feel our responsibilities are heavier, since we are expecting promising news from the 16th CPC National Congress."

Zhigong Party Central Committee chairman Luo Haocai says it's a CPC tradition to solicit opinions from power-sharing parties before making major decisions. He says Jiang Zemin asked for their perspectives before the start of the congress.

They all expressed their willingness to work with the Communist Party of China to continue improving the lives of the Chinese people.
