On September 2, over ten private car owners joyfully stuck "National Day vehicle stickers" on their cars, unveiling an activity themed "I am advancing along with my motherland – Beijing's car drivers welcome National Day, drive courteously to foster new practices." This month, almost 100,000 "National Day vehicle stickers" will be distributed free of charge.

The “National Day vehicle stickers” idea came from car drivers. The stickers are circular and red gradually changing into golden yellow. In its center the vehicle sticker has a five-star red flag blowing in the wind and a “60”-shaped ribbon, and below it reads “I am advancing along with my motherland” encircled by flying white doves and five pointed stars, looking both fashionable and festive. Qi Zhiguo, Secretary General of Beijing Drivers Association, said that the stickers are made from reflective material and the adhesive on them will not damage vehicle paintwork.

The activity was jointly organized by Capital Civilization Office, Beijing Youth League and Beijing Drivers Association. On one hand, the activity will create a festive atmosphere for National Day; on the other hand, it will welcome National Day with civilized behavior, as drivers who use the stickers must follow ten commitments including “no drunk driving” and “no speeding.” Reporters learned that besides members of Beijing Drivers Association, common residents could also get the stickers for free. From mid–September, residents can call 62060616 to get them.
