During the daytime, they patrol around broken walls and vegetables markets, conduct vehicle checks on main roads, and help local police investigate shooting cases. They have to carry equipment weighing over 20 kilograms, endure disgusting smells, and suffer from the hot climate characterized by temperature highs of 40 degrees. Furthermore, they also have to be on alert against armed attacks. At night, the bustling is gone and there are no running vehicles and crowds of people on the streets. Dim lights, the sound of a dog barking and the terrible smells really make them thrill. However, they still march forward in the darkness, bringing peace and quietness to the country.

The "Little White House" is the most densely populated demonstration place in Haiti. One month after the earthquake during the Chinese Lunar New Year's Eve, tens of thousands of Haitians gathered in the square in front of the presidential palace, and the Chinese anti-riot police put forth their best efforts to keep the demonstration in order with some standing on armored vehicles preparing for all possible contingencies while others patrolled the square to prevent riots. Over the past two months, no riots have broken out during demonstrations where the Chinese anti-riot squad conducts their patrols and duties.

The Chinese anti-riot squad has also shouldered the responsibility of keeping order at relief supplies distribution points in the downtown areas. The squad has successfully maintained the order of 14 distribution points in Port-au-Prince, and has built in the hearts of Haitians an image of great kindness.
Since the earthquake, the Chinese anti-riot squad has deployed police officers a total of over 5,500 times to perform guard duties, deployed vehicles more than 1,300 times with a total safe drive distance of over 40,000 kilometers, inspected over 650 vehicles and 3,000 people, arrested 55 suspects, and excavated 6 corpses out of ruins. Moreover, the squad has investigated four murder cases, seized two pistols and seven bullets jointly with other civilian police and Haitian police.
