Visitors can make eco-friendly aluminum plates
During the 2010 Shanghai World Expo, the Beijing Pavilion will showcase more than ten representative high-tech projects, such as medium- and low-speed maglev trains, a satellite named after Beijing and water permeable bricks that can protect underground water. Interactive activities will also be provided in the Pavilion, such as the green plates made by nanometer technology. Eco-friendly aluminum plates will be produced when visitors press the control button.
The Shanghai World Expo is also the first one to offer an online expo. According to Liu, through the online pavilion, netizens can not only see Beijing Pavilion, but also experience Beijing from a 360-degree angle through the virtual 3D space produced by high technology.

Float parade: dancing and painting
With a full length of 1,400 meters, the float parade and the splash-ink painting, one of the types of performance art, will be held simultaneously. Six floats will be loaded with figures, tools and cartoon figures that characterize Beijing, and the 16 new sceneries in Beijing, which were selected last year, will be shown under the floats by means of different costumes.
Cultural performances: Glamorous Beijing
From May 4-8, each day two performances called "Glamorous Beijing" will be presented at the Baosteel Stage and Celebration Square. The performance at Baosteel Stage will be presented indoor lasting for one hour and a half, while the one at the Celebration Square will be presented outdoors and last for 45 minutes.
Display of intangible cultural heritage
A "Beijing tea house" will open at the small Baosteel stage, where drum playing with lamp in mouth, Wanqin, Taiji Long Spout Tea Pouring performance, folk music and other Beijing's traditional folk performing arts will be presented.
Economic promotion: all districts cooperate
A meeting will be held on May 5 to promote the capital's economy, and a "project negotiation day" will be held on May 6. All districts and counties of Beijing will attend these activities, introducing the modern high-tech industrial zone in the north Beijing with Zhongguancun as its central part, modern manufacturing area in the south of Beijing with Yizhuang Development Zone as its center, as well as CBD, Beijing Financial Street, Lingkong Development Zone, and Tongzhou new town.
