A gathering marking the publication of "Mao Zedong's Selected Works on Tibet" was held Sunday in this capital of southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region.
The publication, comprised of 101 articles by Mao, highlights the important instructions and strategic decisions made by Mao and the central committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) between August 1949 and January 1961.
The book gives a comprehensive view of the efforts of Mao and the first collective leadership of CPC in building Tibet, and thus it will aid research on the history of development in Tibet, according to Wang Zhaoguo, head of United Front Work Department of the CPC Central Committee.
The book was jointly compiled by the Party Literature Research Center of the CPC Central Committee, the CPC Tibet Autonomous Regional Committee and the China Tibetology Research Center.
