British Prime Minister Tony Blair has told the British parliament there was firm evidence linking Osama bin Laden to at least three of the hijackers in the September 11th terrorist attack. Blair said evidence showed that bin Laden and his al Qaeda network "planned and carried out the atrocities on September 11th." He said at least three of the hijackers have already been positively identified as known associates of bin Laden, having had a track record in his camps and organisations. He said one of them had also been identified as playing a key role in attacks on US embassies in east Africa in 1998 and on the US warship Cole in Yemen. Blair later talked with Russian President Vladimir Putin about building an international coalition against bin Laden. Putin has promised to provide an air corridor over his country's territory for US planes carrying humanitarian supplies.
