US Attorney General John Ashcroft says that the country will need new tools which can prevent further attacks on US soil.
Meanwhile, he warns of the existence of possible terrorist activities in the US. Ashcroft says that he expects Congress to decide and approve the use of the additional tools within the next month. He considers the adoption of new tools may help the US prevent possible terrorist activities.
The top US law officer also says that the co-conspirators of the September 11th attacks might still remain in the country, despite the arrest of some 500 suspects, and might bring further destruction. The US has massed troops, warplanes and aircraft carriers within striking distance of Afghanistan, waiting for the Taliban to surrender the alleged mastermind Osama bin Laden.
