The United States continues its biggest mobilization since the 1991 Gulf War.
It's positioning military forces around the world, ready to launch military action in retaliation for terrorist attacks in New York City and Washington on September 11th.
Bombers, fighters and support aircraft have been ordered to the Gulf and Indian Ocean region, along with elite Special Operations troops. Security at military facilities on the United States' east coast is also being tightly enforced. Nearly 180 active-duty reservists at Fort Lewis, Washington left McCord Air Force Base Saturday night bound for McGuire Air Force Base in New Jersey.Meanwhile, US Secretary of State Colin Powell says that the government will soon release evidence linking Saudi-born militant Osama Bin Laden to the attacks on New York and Washington.US Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld says the retaliation will involve more than Afghanistan, which is believed to be sheltering bin Laden.
