In their first official reaction to the US led strikes on Afghanistan, the ruling Taliban militia declared the assault to be a "terrorist attack" and vowed that America "will never achieve its goal."
The statement was issued by the Taliban ambassador to Pakistan, Abdul Salam Zaeef, soon after American and British forces launched their air strikes.
Meanwhile, Osama bin Ladin, appeared on AL JAZEER TV earlier today, saying this was a "battle between believers and non-believers." He said Americans will never feel safe, unless Palestinians feel safe. He said America is "full of fear" and "God has given Americans back what they deserve."
The US has warned Americans of possible terrorist retaliation against America.
