British forces are involved in the strikes on Afghanistan. British Prime Minister Tony Blair on Sunday said the war was against terrorists -- not against Islam.
Blair said British submarines were firing missiles against Taliban military targets. Meanwhile, he said that Germany, France, Australia and Canada are also committed to taking part in the military action.
In addition, Britain had more than 20,000 troops taking part in a long-planned exercise in Oman before the attacks began. Several British warships are involved in the exercise.
Britain also has warplanes based in Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Turkey.
