The Brazilian government calls for reason and caution in the fight against terrorism and is opposed to any form and source of terrorism, President Fernando Cardoso said Sunday in a statement.
It's a common task of the international community to fight against terrorism resolutely, Cardoso said in the statement on the United States' military strike on Afghanistan.
But the war against terrorism should not be aimed at a nationality, a country or a religion, and the only goal is to reduce or eradicate the harm of terrorism, Cardoso stressed.
Cardoso hoped the U.S. military action will not cause devastating consequences and not involve innocent people.
