Bulgaria on Monday pledged support for U.S.-led military strikes against the Taliban in Afghanistan, saying it will provide passage of troops and weapons if requested.
If Bulgaria is asked to provide passage of troops and weapons in connection with the military operation against the Taliban in Afghanistan, the parliament will react forthwith, its Chairman Ognyan Gerdjikov said in a statement released by his press office.
Passage of troops and weapons is to be okayed by the parliament, which will include the issue in its agenda immediately if the question arises, Gerdjikov said.
Bulgaria is prepared to meet the challenges of the present tension, Gerdjikov said.
