As the U.S.-led air campaign entered the fifth day, more Afghanistan civilians were reportedly killed and poured toward the Pakistani border, according to reports reaching in Islamabad from Kabul.
U.S. planes early Friday pounded targets east and north of the Afghanistan capital city, according to the report. The Taliban claimed at least 115 people had been killed in overnight strikes late Wednesday and early Thursday.
But no report could confirm the Taliban claims of casualties.
In other development, the southern city of Kandahar, home base and birthplace of the Taliban, was also raided repeatedly by the U. S. raids.
Another report said that after four nights of bombing, people in Kabul had become accustomed to raids and many people went out shopping for their evening meal.
Meanwhile, in Afghanistan's north, the alliance of opposition forces claimed Thursday they had taken the key central province of Gur after heavy fighting with Taliban forces. But the claim could not be verified.
