Seven of the 22 most wanted terrorists in the world named by U.S. President George W. Bush last week have links with Britain, The Sunday Telegraph reported Sunday.
The report said all 22 on the FBI list are closely linked with Osama bin Laden, the prime suspect behind the September 11 terrorist attacks on America, and terrorist activities around the world over the past 15 years.
The British security services believe that six of them lived in, or passed through, the United Kingdom, and a seventh is suspected of masterminding a kidnapping case in Lebanon.
All of them were in the country for at least four weeks, said the report. They are believed to have played a key role in establishing bin Laden's terror network in Britain and there are fears that many are in contact with sleeper agents in the country.
The revelations come as the British government prepares to crack down on terror suspects by allowing fast-track extradition and implementing a new European Union-wide arrest warrant in Britain.
