A compound belonging to the International Committee of the Red Cross has been struck by a U.S. bomb on Tuesday. One person was injured and humanitarian supplies were destroyed. The U.S.-led bombing campaign intensified as a special low-flying gunship was used for the first time.
According to witnesses, bombs were dropped from a high firepower gunship. This jet is typically used to support ground forces trained for small-unit operations. Taliban anti-aircraft fire was minimal, suggesting that most of the Taliban air defences have been knocked out by THE U.S.-led strikes.
