U.S. bombing killed 52 people in a village near the southern Afghan city of Kandahar on Tuesday, the Pakistan-based Afghan Islamic Press (AIP) reported on Wednesday.
Most of the dead were nomads, the AIP said. The village of Chakor Kariz was bombed by U.S.-led forces on Tuesday, it said, quoting unnamed sources.
Civilian deaths have been reported in Afghanistan since October 7 when the U.S. launched the air campaign against the Taliban and Osama bin Laden, the wanted prime suspect in the September 11 terror attacks on the United States.
