Four American military transport planes and six fighter jets left the Philippines on Monday after a refueling stop en route to participate in the US-led war on terrorism.
A US Embassy spokeswoman said the stop was only to refuel after a flight from Japan. The aircraft's destination was being kept secret.
According to a Philippine official who oversaw a joint force agreement with Washington, four C-130 transport planes arrived in Clark Airbase on Sunday, carrying about 110 US Marine support personnel along with communications gear and other equipment. The F-18 fighter jets stayed only four hours.
Philippine President Arroyo, with the backing of parliament has offered America the use of its airspaces and ports, and said she would send ground troops if asked.
