Memorial events over Sept. 11 held at U.S. military bases in Japan  |

The US military officials on Wednesday held memorial events at U.S. bases in Japan over the anniversary of Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, Japan's Kyodo News reported.
At Yokota Air Base in western Tokyo, some 500 US military officials and their families attended a memorial service, the report said.
A US flag made of pictures of firefighters and military officials drawn by children at an elementary school inside the base was on display.
At the Futemma Air Station in Okinawa, about 200 marines took part in a memorial event, Kyodo said.
Earlier in the day, the US Embassy in Japan also held a memorial ceremony.
