| US closes 14 embassies abroad |

The United States National Security Council has announced that it's temporarily shutting down 14 embassies for security reasons. The embassies are mainly in Asia and the Middle East.
The missions include offices in the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Indonesia, Malaysia, Tajikistan, Vietnam, Cambodia and Pakistan. Some were closed on Tuesday, with the remaining to shut down on Wednesday.
The British High Commission in Kuala Lumpur is just a kilometer away from the US Embassy and has also closed its consular and visa section as a precaution.
