Pakistan to provide free education

• Apart from poverty, illiteracy is the biggest challenge facing most developing countries. Pakistan has a population of 140 million, ranking seventh in the world. Only half of its people can read and write. To deal with this problem, the government launched an "Education for All" program in 2001, providing free education to all children. Compulsory education for all is the next step.

CCTV－PTV Documentary Exchange

CCTV-9 "Documentary" program Producer Pang Xinhua, Anchor Zhao Bin, and Editor Wang Xinyu traveled to Pakistan during China´s National Day holidays, taking with them seven of CCTV´s best programs on topics including history, women and children and tourism. The documentaries were shown on PTV in celebration of "Chinese TV Week".
