Nafez Aldagha, a bakery worker, says, "Maybe we have flour that might last us two or three days only. After that we are going to be doing nothing."

Residents have also been hard-hit by blackouts since Israel stopped allowing in industrial fuel for Gaza's sole power plant.

Samir Muhana, the bakery owner, says, "Due to the shortage of natural gas we had to refer to a new method and found out that firewood is the most appropriate, like in the old days."
