Medical services and children's access to schools are also of concern to the President. Hu Jintao congratulated medical staff at a care center in Wen Chuan county for their contribution to saving lives shortly after the earthquake. He also went to a middle school in Bei Chuan county, where over a thousand students are attending classes in temporary buildings.

Chinese president Hu Jintao said, "After the earthquake, the government and society built this place for you to study. And in the near future, a new school will be constructed for you. I hope you can study hard and improve your skills. Serve the country and the people once you grow up. "

The President listened to reports by local officials at the end of his tour. Hu Jintao stressed that concerted efforts be made to provide housing, ensure employment, and develop the economy as quickly as possible.
