Hong Kong's Victoria Harbor is famous for its spectacular panoramic views, the skyscrapers and modern transportation network, the century old ferry service and busy seaport together forming a natural focal point. The Harbor is like a huge stage where, every day, miracles are created and real life dramas unfold. 30 years ago, Lady Chong Kin Wo's legendary business success began right beside the pier, and it originated in a simple idea: introducing the dumpling, a popular food from northern China, into Hong Kong.

"People eat dumplings on any happy occasion, such as a holiday celebration or a family reunion. The food symbolizes life's happy moments, " said Chong Kinwo, Creator of the Wanchai Ferry Brand.

Chong Kin Wo is now over 60 years old and Hong Kong people fondly refer to her as "Lady Chong." But many years ago, she was just a young woman in pigtails selling freshly handcrafted dumplings at Hong Kong's Wanchai Ferry Pier. Today, however, her name is as famous as the premium food brand she created. The story of the young woman who once sold dumplings from a wooden cart by the pier, and who went on to become a well-known entrepreneur has inspired many, due to the tremendous courage and the emotions experienced on her path to success.

In 1997, when Hong Kong returned to China, Lady Chong owned a store in the busy commercial area known as Wanchai, as well as a manufacturing facility in the Chai Wan industrial district. Over the years, the "Wanchai Ferry Dumpling" became a popular brand selling in all Hong Kong's major supermarkets. Then, when her business was already progressing along smoothly, a major historical event in 1997 provided her with even greater opportunities for further development.

Chong's office is in the Gateway building in Kowloon, overlooking Victoria Harbor. The size and location of the company offices reveal the strength of her company.

"It has about 1,000 square meters of office space in total. It's an expensive building, costing the company 300,000 HK dollars a month for rent. The real estate here is very expensive and it's very crowded in this area, " said Chong Kinwo, creator of the Wanchai Ferry Brand.
