"This memorial museum will be the first of its kind in our country to document the entire historic course of the establishment of the Inner Mongolian Autonomous Region. It covers over 100 years of history," says Rong Xuelian, Spokesperson, Memorial Museum for Nationalities Liberation.

"A self-governing system was set up in Inner Mongolia 60 years ago, right here in Ulanhot, a significant milestone in setting up the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. It is considered an innovative way by the Communist Party of China to help local ethnic groups to develop their culture and economy. From then on, the history of Inner Mongolia has entered a new stage," says Liu Ying, Ulanhot, Inner Mongolia.
